Wall of Remembrance

This year marks one hundred years since the end of the First World War (1914-1918). We would like to mark this anniversary with a Wall of Remembrance in All Saints’ church.

We would like you, Wootton Courtenay villagers, to provide messages of Remembrance for any of your family or friends who have died or been injured in any armed conflict since 1914.  These messages can be in any style, but no bigger than A4, please.  Photographs would be welcome, as would the formal print-outs from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.  Messages can be printed, handwritten and/or illustrated – in fact, any form you like!

In the church, from October 21st, 2018, we will provide the ‘walls’ for your messages to be displayed until after November 11th, the 100th anniversary of the Armistice.  This is an opportunity to show our respect and express our thanks to those who gave their lives – or their health – so that we can all enjoy the freedom of living here, surrounded by the beauties of Exmoor.
