Civil War Photography Talk at the Village Hall

Tuesday 22nd November

The next village talk will be presented by Patrick Hoyte, who will give an illustrated talk on History and Photography in The American Civil War.

Patrick has had an interest in The American Civil War since studying it for his History O-level: he collects books about it and has seven different biographies of Abraham Lincoln. Photography as a hobby came along later, but it helped a lot with his battlefield tour of Virginia and Pennsylvania in 2017.

The war and photography taken together make an interesting combination, but Patrick says the talk promises to be “more serendipity than a history lesson, and more bumbling than a formal photography class”.

The retiring collection will be for Médecins Sans Frontieres.

Doors open 7 for 7.30pm. There will be a bar.
