History Club

The St Petrock’s History Group covers Timberscombe, Wootton Courtenay and the surrounding area.  We welcome all members from where we are based in Exmoor, and aim to arrange interesting talks throughout the year.  It is important that the topics covered reflect the interests of our members, so please feel free to make suggestions direct to me about possible topics/lecturers, or if you have any ideas about how to make our meetings more relevant or beneficial to our communities – marion@j-mail.org or 01643 841500.

Membership is £10 per annum and an additional £1 is payable per member per visit. Visitors are charged £4.  Cash only please.  Light refreshments are provided at each meeting.  Meetings are held in St Petrock’s Church as a way to encourage use of a local Grade 1 Listed asset for community purposes.

Meetings for 2024 will be held on the third Monday of alternate months, so the next meeting will be on Monday 20th May at 7pm, concerning the history of Cowbridge Mill. Refreshments are served from 6.30pm. There is an accessible toilet and the church has a full hearing loop.

You are very welcome to come along and join us. If you would like to join the mailing list to be informed about future events and talks, please email me at marion@j-mail.org

Thank you.
