Thank you to Patrick Hoyte for sharing with everyone his two great loves, history and photography, in his beautifully illustrated talk on The American Civil War.
£146 was raised in the retiring collection for Medecins sans Frontieres, a humanitarian organisation which provides medical assistance to countries affected by war or natural disasters, or those excluded from healthcare.
It felt most appropriate that a retired doctor should bring this to our attention while at the same time showing us some of the lasting effects of war.
