Coronation Acrostic Competition

I thought it might be a nice idea to hold a poetry competition to celebrate the coronation of Charles III. I hope you like the idea too. Sarah has agreed to display the poems in the shop window.

The poems entered should be in the form of a coronation acrostic, which means that each letter at the start of each line should spell out the word

Poems can be typed or handwritten, and may be illustrated. When finished please hand them in to the shop for Sarah to display. Please do not sign them, but attach your name and contact number on a separate piece of paper attached to your work. The winner/s will be announced at the shop garden party, but it’s the taking part that counts!

Closing date: Friday May 5th

I hope we will get a lot of entries. They can be serious or fun, the main thing is that they unite us as a village in celebrating this special occasion.
