Thank you for the interest shown in the competition so far. I hope there will be lots of entries!
We will begin to display the poems in the shop on Thursday. The deadline for entries is Friday May 5th, preferably before the shop closes at lunchtime. The winners will be chosen by public vote, so everyone needs to have time to read them.
You will choose your 1st and 2nd favourites, and write their numbers and sign your name on slips of paper provided. You will have a chance to do this at Skye’s on Friday, in the shop on Saturday or Sunday morning, and at the Garden Party on Sunday. The winners will be announced on Sunday afternoon and three prizes will be presented. Exciting!
Please have a go. It will be fun! I have included, as an example, a Brian Bilston “Happy New Year“ acrostic that we read at a Thinking Allowed discussion on New Year resolutions – click here to read it. Also, if you want to write more verses you can repeat the word CORONATION as many times as you like.
And remember, it can be as serious or as humorous as you want!
