The Big Help Out Initiative in Porlock

King’s Coronation – The Big Help Out Initiative in Porlock

Monday May 8th, 10.03 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.

PORLOCK VISITOR CENTRE AND PORLOCK LIBRARY

We’re all looking forward to celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III in May 2023. Monday May 8th is a national volunteering day entitled ‘The Big Help Out’, to mark the King’s Coronation.

Porlock Visitor Centre and Porlock Library are embracing this great initiative with a Get Involved Coronation Cake and Coffee Morning at Porlock Visitor Centre on Monday 8th May 10.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. Porlock Town Crier will be starting the morning with a rallying cry. We hope that familiar and new volunteers will come along to this social event.

Are you recently retired and have time on your hands? Have you recently moved to the Vale and would like to become involved in community life? Please come along to find out more and chat to our community groups about how you might be able to help.

We have vibrant and active community organisations who put on lots of brilliant events: Porlock Carnival, Porlock Panto, Community Soup Days, Country Fair, Flower Festival, Duck Race, Sea Festival, Concerts and the Repair Café are just a few. These events rely on volunteer help to ensure that everyone has a great time, and they bring our community together.

We look forward to seeing new and existing volunteers. Coffee and cakes will be available from Porlock Ladies, and refreshments provided by Miles Tea. If you’re unable to come along but want to register, please contact Porlock Visitor Centre on 01643 863150 or email visit@porlock.co.uk and we can take your details.
