There have been two incidents (in Holford and Exford) of containers being broken into at playing fields and mowing equipment/tools being stolen. The village hall at Holford was also broken into. In both cases an angle grinder or similar was used to break into the container housing the mower.
Police advice is:
To consider blocking doors with a vehicle overnight.
Ensure serial numbers/makes of mowers and tools are recorded.
Photograph items, for identification.
Consider installing alarms.
Report any incidents of suspicious behaviour (day or night).
