Thinking Allowed

Monday 12th June

The next gathering for Thinking Allowed will be on Monday 12th June, 6.30 for 7pm in the Villagers’ Stores or in the Garden if the weather allows it. Drinks available from 6.30pm.

For those who have not been before, you can be assured of a warm welcome from a friendly, relaxed group as, over a glass of wine (or whatever) we discuss and learn from each other about a topic of common interest agreed by the group. In order to stimulate thinking, notes are posted on the website in advance, somebody briefly introduces the topic and the discussion begins. All contributions to the discussion are welcomed. We finish at 8pm with a poem provided by our poet laureate Mary Noble.

June’s topic is how we understand moral authority. This is a hot topic today in the political world – politicians may have political power, but does this mean that they have moral authority as well? What gives a person moral authority? These questions relate to many walks of life and is especially important in leadership. Fuller notes will be posted nearer the time.
