Wootton Courtenay Theatre Club

Screening of Akhnaten
Monday 17th July

FREE ENTRY
6.30pm for a 7.00 prompt start

Following a number of enthusiastic requests from villagers, our theatre club has been able to obtain a special licence from the New York Metropolitan Opera to screen their spectacular production of the modern opera Akhnaten, written by the American composer Philip Glass.
The opera is about the colourful and enigmatic life of the Egyptian Pharaoh Akhnaten. It is dramatically and colourfully staged with the highest quality music, singing and choreography you would expect from one of the greatest opera houses in the world.

The performance lasts 172 minutes. It is in three acts and there will be two short intervals to recharge glasses and relax.

To conform to the terms of the licence, entry will be free although we will have a small retiring collection to cover the licencing costs. There will be a licensed bar at the start and during the intervals. The performance will start promptly at 7.00pm.

COME PREPARED FOR A SPECTACULAR AND MEMORABLE EVENING!
