This is the first year, since moving here 9 years ago, that I have developed a small veg patch. I seem to have miscalculated the prolific nature of runner beans, and we now have a freezer stocked with enough to last until next year’s season… and the bloody things are still ‘waving’ at me every morning saying ‘more to pick’.
