Thursday 7th September, 7:30pm at the Village Hall
The evening will kick off with a practical demonstration from Peter Clapham, which may well be of interest to artists as well as photographers:
Mounting and Displaying Your Photographs
Making mounts for your own photographs and artwork at home has many advantages. You are in complete control and can cut mounts to display many sizes of work. You can also cut the mount to fit the size of your own frames. Charity shops are a good source of frames, which can be bought very cheaply. Mount board can be bought economically on the internet and in art shops found in larger towns.
Peter will demonstrate the use of a small, simple mount cutter and guide ruler which will cut perfect bevelled mounts easily time after time. He will show how to mount, back and frame a photograph. He will also show how to make a slip-in mount, which will allow you to change photographs instantly.
Making your own mounts is enjoyable and fun. It enables you to be in control of the whole process from taking the picture, printing and display. Well worth a try.
After a tea break, members’ photos on the theme ‘Summer’ and/or ‘Photographing a flower in 6 different ways’ will be displayed on the big screen. Please bring your photos as JPEGs on a memory stick.
Annual membership of the Photography Club costs £15, and entry to meetings is free.
