A heads up: we have been contacted by BT to say they have detected a fault in the wiring for our internet (which will only get worse) and that work will be taking place on Wednesday 20th December. The council have okayed the work with suitable road management.
BT were not able to tell me if this would mean full or partial road closure, or how long it might take, but they will definitely be digging up the road! No amount of getting cross or begging for it to be left till the New Year helped to sway the matter; apparently, once actioned, it has to go ahead.
Obviously we’re not overjoyed at this happening so close to Christmas, with the post being picked up and delivered. I can only suggest that if you can all try to get your final postage done next Monday and Tuesday, hopefully Wednesday won’t become a complete nightmare for everyone.
Fingers crossed the work will be done quickly and efficiently without being too much of a nuisance.
