We would like to thank Amanda Elliott for her interesting and informative talk on Charles Dickens. In a very thoughtful, and thought provoking, presentation she gave us a real appreciation of his works, and a true insight into the man himself. The warmth of a very appreciative audience provided a welcome contrast to the wet and windy conditions outside and the retiring collection raised a generous £182 for British Dalmatian Welfare, a cause which supports those ‘deserving spotty dogs’ who are so close to Amanda’s heart. It was a very enjoyable evening.
