The Return of Anthony Knight

Talented violinist, Anthony Knight, who has played at All Saints’ twice before over the years, is visiting us again on Sunday, 23rd June. Anthony will play for 15 minutes at 12 noon, that is after the communion service, to raise funds for UNICEF. The pieces he will play for us are ‘Nigun’ by Ernest Bloch and ‘Ladies in Lavender’ by Nigel Hess.

Currently on a sponsored year-long recital tour of Europe, Anthony has been playing in exclusive hotels throughout the continent. He has so far raised over £10,000 for UNICEF, the largest international charity that helps children in areas of conflict around the world. He has recently increased his fundraising target to £20,000.

Anthony has a link with Wootton Courtenay as his great grandparents, George and Constance Morgan, were longtime village residents. He also likes the acoustics in the church! Anthony hopes to take up a place at the Royal College of Music later this year.

Please come along on Sunday to support the efforts of this admirable young chap, who is in the middle of his A-levels but still fundraising. Everyone is very welcome to come along on Sunday but, if you’d prefer, donations can be made online at unicef.org.

Many thanks

Amanda
