The Woodland Trust are offering free packs of trees for planting in November 2024. Sustainable Wootton Courtenay have selected a pack of Wild Harvest trees, including hazel, crab apple, elder, dog rose, elder and blackthorn. According to the internet, none of these species grow taller than 15 metres. The thought is to choose some specimen trees from the pack to plant at the bottom of the playing field, in the present scrub area, and to plant the rest to thicken the hedges around the field.
