There have been three recent break-ins involving cars parked at Dunkery Beacon, where windows were smashed to gain entry and handbags, purses, iPads and passports were among the items taken.
We have been patrolling in the area, and other nearby beauty spots such as Webber’s Post, and offering crime prevention advice to walkers who are parked there. We gave them leaflets to put in their cars to say that all valuables have been removed.
We will be speaking with the Exmoor rangers about possibly placing signage at the locations.
