Harvest Festival and Supper

Autumn has rolled around again and it’s that time in the Church calendar when we celebrate that most rural of traditions: harvest. Harvest Festival will be held in our parish church at 6pm on Sunday, 6th October, followed by the bun fight, Harvest Supper, in the village hall. We have a guest speaker this year, Graham Harvey, the former agricultural editor for BBC Radio 4’s ‘The Archers’.

Supper usually begins around 7pm so if you’d rather not join us for the Harvest Festival service (why not?!) then please feel free to join us at the hall for supper. Please put your names on the sign up sheet in the villagers’ stores so we have an idea of numbers for catering purposes.

As is a Wootton Courtenay tradition, supper will be a choice of homemade soups, followed by a plethora of homemade puddings and/or cheese. The first drink is ‘on the house’ but soft drinks and wine will be on sale throughout the evening. Please join us for what is always a warm and friendly community get together. Donations this year will be towards the All Saints’ Church back roof repair.

Hope to see you there.
