A busy month on the horizon
The 1st of November is All Saints’ Day (or All Hallows) and it is our parish church’s patronal day. There will be a communion service in All Saints’ Church, Wootton Courtenay, at 9am on 1st November to mark this important day.
Also, back by popular demand, there will be ‘Breakfast for All Saints’ in the village hall on 1st November, after the service, from 9.30 to 11.30am. A large range of breakfast items will be available as well as fruit juice and hot drinks. This breakfast is by donation and is another fundraiser for the church roof – as well as being a fun community event, of course. We are very lucky to be supported again by Andy and Tanya of the Dunkery Beacon, who have generously donated bacon and sausages. Don’t miss it.
On 3rd November at 6pm there will be a candlelit service to mark All Souls. This service will be one of remembrance for our departed and will contain appropriate music and poetry. If anyone would like the name of a lost loved one included in the service, please let me have their name: (panda.elliott@gmail.com). There will also be an opportunity to light a small candle as a mark of remembrance. Drinks and nibbles will follow the service.
Lest we forget, the 10th November is Remembrance Sunday and the traditional service of Remembrance will start promptly in All Saints’ at 10.45am. This service is a beautiful and honourable tradition in Wootton Courtenay – everyone is warmly invited to attend.
