We would like to offer a big thank you to Ian Stewart for entertaining a captive audience with yet another village talk. This time Ian fascinated us with his detailed knowledge of Miners’ Safety Lamps, a talk which prompted lots of questions and an active interest in the many lamps on display. It was made all the more relevant, and poignant, by the fact that eight members of the audience were descendants of mining families.
The talk, attended by nearly fifty people, raised £210 for Prostate Cancer UK. Thank you Ian, and everyone who attended.
