Somerset Sight is your local charity supporting over 3000 blind and partially sighted people with various services and resources.
One of these services is the Volunteer Visitor Service, whereby a volunteer is carefully matched with a service user (see poster below). The benefits of this service are tenfold. The service user feels much less lonely and isolated, and the volunteer feels many benefits too. “Helping people who appreciate what you do is reward in itself.” Currently we have many people who are on the waiting list for a visitor.
