In the lovely hamlet of Bury just south and east of Machine Cross (B3222/A396), there is, or used to be, a charming cottage upon whose garden gate a well-made small carved sign bore the legend, “Here lives a lovely lady and a Grumpy Old Man”. I don’t think Paddy once lived there.
