We want to alert you to two recent thefts from cars parked at the Dunkery Beacon parking area. Michelle and I have been round local beauty spot car parks to put up posters and speak with visitors about keeping their belongings safe. We have also visited campsites in the area, and will continue to do so.
We are asking people to be vigilant and not leave items on display; ideally, take them with you when you walk, as often thieves will watch people put things in their boot, then target the car once the owner has left. Even if it’s an empty shopping bag or rucksack, the thieves won’t know it’s empty and will smash the car window to gain entry.
