Thank You to Philip Douglas’ Family

You may recall that Philip Douglas always loaned the village his large flagpoles for our village events. Earlier this month we approached his family to ask if we might borrow them for the VE day BBQ on the Playing Field on May 8th. We also offered to buy them for the village.

I’m pleased to report that the family have very generously gifted them to the village, stating that this is what Philip would have wanted. They asked that we donate to Church funds, suggesting £20 for each pole.

Thanks also go to Ian Stewart, who has kindly offered to store them.
