Flower & Produce Show

A reminder that the Flower & Produce Show is only nine days away now. It’s been a difficult year for growing, with hardly any rain over the last two months, but remember that everyone’s gardens will have suffered the same. The Show is a celebration of what we grow in our gardens and what we bake, make and create, so I hope the spirit of Wootton Courtenay will win out and that everyone will take part. The Schedules for the Show are in the village shop now – pick up a copy this week.
We are still missing cups from our winners last year. Please could you return your cups to the Villagers’ Stores as soon as possible? Cups must be cleaned before returning.
A reminder that entries for the Photography Class must be handed in to the Villagers’ Stores by midday on Saturday 2nd August.
This year’s photography themes are:
‘Village Life’
‘Vegetables’
‘Decay’ (think stone, wood, old buildings, etc)
ONE photograph in each category only, please, and photographs must have been taken since the last Flower & Produce Show in 2024. The pictures should be unmounted and the largest size of paper that they may be printed on is A4.
We are short of prizes for the Flower Show raffle. If you have any foodie treats – bottles of drink (alcoholic or otherwise), chocs, biscuits, etc – or gardening-related items you can donate, please drop them off at the Villagers’ Stores next time you’re in there.
