Village Compost Order

It is that time of year again when I usually place a bulk compost order for anyone in the village who is interested- the trade prices give us a discount on retail prices.

This year has been more difficult because the usual suppliers have increased their prices considerably, I have therefore also obtained prices for Petersfield compost (they supply Kew, Wisley, NT properties, etc). Petersfield prices are competitive but their minimum order is 3 pallets, each pallet only containing one type of compost (50 bags) so I am not sure that we will have sufficient interest to order from them.

Pricing is further complicated because all the suppliers offer bags of differing sizes, so please look carefully before you decide. Links to each supplier’s website have been given next to their heading.

Lakeland Gold, 30 litre -£8.00/ bag
Wool Compost, 30 litre – £8.00/ bag

(these prices could be reduced by about 25p per bag if we order full pallets of a single compost)

Multipurpose with John Innes, 40 litre – £ 5.40/ bag
Ericaceous, 40 litre – £5.30/ bag
Soil improver, 50 litre – £5.20/ bag

Seed and cutting, 20 litre.- £4.10/ bag
Fruit and veg, 40 litre – £ 5.20/ bag
These ROCKETGRO prices are for full pallets of a single compost. If we do not have sufficient orders for this then the mixed pallet price is about £6.00/ bag regardless of which compost it is.

Sylvagrow is £8-9/ 40 litre bag
Evergreen multipurpose is £7.00/ 50 litre bag
