Thinking Allowed

Following our last gathering, I confirm that we will not be meeting in October and that the next meeting will be on Monday 10th November when we will be exploring the question of how far society enables its citizens to gain their full potential. More details will be circulated nearer the time.

Our August discussion was prompted by the Bank of England’s consultation on what images should appear on the back of our banknotes. In her appeal for responses, the chief cashier wrote, ‘Bank notes are more than just an important means of payment – they serve as a symbolic representation of our collective national identity and an opportunity to celebrate the UK.’ After a very lively meeting, Thinking Allowed’s view was sent to the Chief Cashier and we have recently had a response.
