Race Against Dementia Trip to Rome

Brian and Margaret O’Hara’s son, Tim, and his son Ryan recently completed a 3,000-plus mile round trip to Rome and back in a 2002 MG, along with a group of motoring-mad friends. Tragically, four days before the trip began Tim heard that his brother, Nick, had died suddenly of a heart attack. With the blessing of Nick’s wife, Mandy, the team embarked on the trip in Nick’s memory. Ryan added a sticker to the MG’s front wing which read “In loving memory of Nicholas O’Hara”, and on his return, sticker still intact, he drove the MG to Nick’s funeral service.

The team raised over £3,000 for Race Against Dementia, and the total is still rising. If you’d like to find out more about this journey, which was beset with car trouble throughout, you can email Brian to hear the whole story: jbmjohara@gmail.com

In the meantime, if you’d like to make a donation to Race Against Dementia on Tim’s team’s behalf, please go their JustGiving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/tim-ryan-road2rome
