Energy Efficiency Coffee Morning Thank You

A very big thank you to all who came to the Energy Efficiency Coffee Morning yesterday (Wednesday 8th) and made it such an interesting and informative gathering. Special thanks to the speakers, Brian Matthews, Jane Cobbald, Roger Carrick and Mark Oxtoby, who shared their experiences installing and living with the various energy efficient improvements they have made to their homes. There was positive discussion over coffee and a wonderful spread of delicious cakes kindly prepared by the wonder team of Linda Stenner, Valerie Clapham and Annie Dutton, which was very much appreciated by everyone.

If you missed the coffee morning, all is not lost. There is an Energy Efficiency information file available to borrow from the village shop which contains a huge amount of information and advice, as well as signposts to other resources and sources of help. This has recently been fully updated by Peter and Valerie Clapham.

Six households also participate in a site visit scheme, where hosts have generously offered to show and discuss their energy efficient measures with fellow villagers. The breadth of experience and advice available is impressive, encompassing air and ground source heating, biomass heating, solar PV, batteries, underfloor heating, internal (cork) wall insulation and much more. Details of the scheme hosts and how to contact them can be found in the Energy Efficiency information file mentioned above.

The Energy Efficiency group is a small team, very much open to welcoming new members. If you would like to join us (we meet roughly 4 times a year), please contact me on 01643 829129.
