The Wootton Courtenay Theatre Club has two more screenings planned at the village hall for this year.
The first, on 17th November, is the National Theatre’s acclaimed production of George Bernard Shaw’s ‘Mrs Warren’s Profession’. Starring Imelda Staunton and her daughter, Bessie Carter, the play explores the relationship between a former prostitute (Staunton) and her disapproving daughter. This NT Screening is 1 hour and 57 minutes long with no interval.
Our Christmas treat for you this year is ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ from the Royal Ballet, which we will be screening on 15th December. Alice is danced by Lauren Cuthbertson, the White Rabbit by James Hay and Steven McRae is the Mad Hatter in this beautiful and light-hearted production. This screening is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes long.
Doors open at 7pm, with screenings starting at 7.30pm. Tickets on the door are £12.50 each production. There will be a licensed bar on 17th November and mulled wine and nibbles provided free on 15th December – because it will be close to Christmas and time to celebrate.
