The Regal Theatre – December 2025

December at The Regal Theatre kicks off on Tuesday 2nd with ‘The Choral’, a film written by Alan Bennett and directed by Nicholas Hytner in which a choral group in a small Yorkshire town decides to take a chance on appointing Dr Henry Guthrie (played by Ralph Fiennes) as their choirmaster, despite his homosexuality, pro-German sympathies and atheism. The film received good reviews, with the Guardian describing it as ‘an unsentimental but deeply felt drama’.

Then on Saturday 6th Andre Rieu swings into action with a rousing oom-pa-pa Christmas concert, followed on Wednesday 10th by a screening of The Royal Ballet’s production of that festive favourite, ‘The Nutcracker’.

And finally, it’s panto season – oh yes it is! Alan Frayn’s ‘Robin Hood and Babes in the Wood’, presented by Minehead Panto People, begins a week of thigh-slapping, laughter-filled mayhem on Saturday 13th December.
