Manor House Planning Applications

We are getting feedback from concerned and confused villagers about the two recent planning notices relating to works at Manor House. We would like to clarify these and hopefully put everyone’s mind at rest.

The planning notices are ‘Variations of Conditions’. This means they have been issued because we did not do exactly what we applied for.

Application 6/43/25/011
The architect advised that we should apply for permission for re-roofing in case we found that we needed to do it. We had the required Bat Survey done. Had we needed to re-roof we would have required a Bat License from Natural England. But as we did not re-roof, this was not required. We also did not install any external lighting. These changes have required the application for an alteration/lifting of condition.

Application 6/43/25/010
This notice has been triggered because we DIDN’T make any changes to the plank and munition screen in the hall. The windows it relates to are at the back, where we replaced one single-glazed kitchen window pane with a double-glazed one. There is no intention to change the windows on the front of the house. It also refers to the ‘Method Statement and Photographic Recording’ of the rendering and pointing work. We have submitted a photographic record of the work and explained that we are very happy with how the building looks now and would like it to stay this way. Decisions evolved as Jeremy Lile (Historic Building Conservation) was doing the work and we could see the condition of the stonework he revealed leading to a mixture of lime render and lime pointing.

I hope this is helpful. Please do come and speak to us if you would like to.
