It’s Christmas! The Carol Service is here to prove it on Sunday, 21st December at 6pm in All Saints’ Church, Wootton Courtenay. I was asked why I always put ‘Wootton Courtenay’ and it’s because other All Saints’ are available!
Six lessons and some poems, read by your friends and neighbours, and carols sung by us all, tell the nativity story – a story we’ve been told since we were knee high to a donkey but which never gets old. Also, this year, I’m very pleased that Moor Harmony, Wootton Courtenay’s natural voice singing group, will be joining us to sing four seasonal songs, led by the fabulous Claire Stronach. We missed them last year.
To end this Christmas fest, a senior villager will read the last page of Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’ – as good today as it was in 1843.
Please join us on Sunday at 6pm. Forget the outside world for a brief spell and relax in the warmth and familiarity of a traditional Christmas service.
A good bunfight follows the service.
