Village Email Service Interruption

Bill and I received emails from two villagers yesterday saying that they hadn’t received village emails since 2nd March. Looking at the internal analytic reports on their accounts, it showed that the messages had ‘bounced’, meaning that the messages had been sent successfully but the email addresses hadn’t accepted them.

Checking through the village email list, Bill has discovered that messages have bounced on several more addresses in the village. He has ‘unbounced’ all these addresses, but as we don’t know why it happened in the first place, the problem could recur. Bill put in a support ticket with MailerLite customer service and he’s received an initial response saying that, as many of them seem related to BT internet email addresses (including TalkTalk, owned by BT), the complaint will be escalated to their Deliverability Team, who will try to resolve it as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, if you haven’t received any village emails for the past few days, please check the newsfeed on the website for recent messages: https://woottoncourtenayvillage.co.uk/long-news-list/

Apologies if this has affected you, we will do our best to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
