I am pleased to share the final NHS Somerset’s ‘Somerset’s Big Conversation 2025’ (SBC2025) engagement findings report, bringing together the views, experiences and priorities of people and communities across Somerset. To read the SBC2025 report, please click here.
Somerset’s Big Conversation 2025 engaged 3,947 people through nine different approaches, including 33 in-person roadshow events across more than 50 locations, large-scale and targeted online surveys, community-led sessions, health inequalities outreach, digital engagement and email conversations. In total, more than 8,300 individual pieces of feedback were captured and analysed, creating one of the most comprehensive engagement evidence bases undertaken by NHS Somerset. This work reflects the importance of local insight and the role of communities in shaping health and care services. Many of the themes in the report align closely with issues raised locally, including access to services, prevention, community-based care and the use of digital technology.
The findings have been presented to the Somerset Board and are being used to inform decision-making and future planning. SBC2025 forms part of a wider programme of engagement insight, bringing together evidence from multiple projects and pathways. Targeted insight reports have been shared with teams to inform service planning and improvement — including community services and neighbourhoods, adult social care, wheelchair services, research and frailty.
We will continue to share updates on how SBC2025 feedback is being used to inform our work. To find out more, please visit: Somerset’s Big Conversation 2025 – NHS Somerset ICB
