July 29th: Apollo 11

Our next screening is of Apollo 11, an immersive experience of the first moon landing. Using never previously seen 65mm and 70mm film, the makers bring unprecedented views of the Apollo 11 mission. Not a drama or documentary, but an immersive experience of the emotions of Buzz, Neil and Michael on their historic trip.

The Guardian: “The result is a stunning project of historical preservation – no narration, no cutaway interviews, no recreations, just original material synced with some music and the occasional diagram.”

Screen International: “This meticulously conceived documentary is both a definitive account of the voyage as well as a creative, cinematic you-are-there unfolding of the events that transpired.”
