Letter from Somerset West and Taunton Council:
This is a notice regarding a consultation from British Telecom concerning the removal of a number of telephone boxes in our District area – click on these two links to read letters from BT with all the details:
According to the attached Ofcom guidance – Ofcom Guidance on Payphone Removals – the closing date for the first round of consultation is midnight on Sunday 29th September 2019. If we don’t receive any correspondence from Parish Councils we will assume that you are happy for the phone box to be removed.
Once the first round of consultation has closed the draft notice will be circulated to you all for a further round of consultation, which will close at midnight on Wednesday 30th October 2019.
We will then send the final decision notice to BT and the Secretary of State by the closing date of 3rd November 2019.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
