Dear Wootton Courtenay Villagers
We would like to thank you for your kind thoughts and words at this sad time.
George passed away on Monday after a very rapid decline which was a shock to us all.
Although nearly ninety he remained at the heart of the village as he had his entire life. He had childhood scrapes, teenage wild times, a wonderful marriage to Joan, years of hard work and civic duty.
He was always happy to help others and have a ‘yap’.
The only place he wanted to be was Wootton Courtenay and had seen it change from a busy working community to a quiet backwater. He will be missed by us all.
To celebrate his life we are opening the Garage doors on his birthday, Tuesday 11th August at 11am. We would love to see you there.
With thanks from Joan, Dawn, Jayne & Alison
PS. We intend to hold a memorial Songs of Praise including all his favourite hymns and any anecdotes you may wish to share when the covid restrictions have been lifted.
