Help for the Hospice

One of the unseen effects of Covid 19 has been a dramatic reduction in the income of charities, and one that is particularly relevant to us is St Margaret’s Hospice. As some of you will know, Terry Matthews in the village has been an assistant manager of the Hospice shop in Minehead for many years. I have sold on his behalf, and with his help, ‘collectable’ items which have raised many thousands of pounds for the Hospice.

There have been numerous memorable items over the years, including a letter written by George Bernard Shaw which raised £500, a box of Dinky Toys which raised £900, a box of tin soldiers £590, and many pieces of jewellery.

Unfortunately since the first lockdown Terry has been unable to bring items for me to sell, but I would be very happy to sell – commission free – on Ebay on your behalf anything that you would like to contribute to the Hospice (Ebay fees will apply). I will offer for sale anything small enough to post. Larger items like furniture are a bit difficult. At the moment I am into old records, coins, stamps and other collectables, jewellery, old games, cards etc.

Please contact me on 841253, drop off items at Stag Cottage or leave them at the village shop.

Thank you.
