Message to Villagers
At the Wootton Courtenay Villagers’ Stores AGM, held on 22nd August, a new Board was elected. It is important that we thank the previous Board and mediators and acknowledge the tremendous work they have done. The last 18 months or so have been particularly challenging and we owe a huge debt of gratitude to this key group.
The newly appointed Board is supporting a new proposal that we believe will help guarantee the future of our wonderful village shop. This proposal was approved in principle at the EGM and is currently being worked on and developed and will hopefully be formally ratified by shareholders over the next 3 or so weeks, in line with regulations.
The Village Shop is at the heart of our community and is dear to us all. Please be assured that the new Board of Directors will keep villagers informed of progress on the delivery of the proposal. We will be asking villagers for your views and support over the coming weeks; I am convinced that this collective approach involving the whole village community will help us guarantee the future sustainability of our unique and wonderful Villagers’ Stores.
