This week I discovered a new feature on our coast, that of Gull Hole Cave. The cave is at the tip of the rocks under Hurlestone Point and is only accessible at the lowest tides. A local person has recorded a video showing the scramble from the Minehead side through the cave to the tip of the beach near Bossington. The route is too difficult for most people, and many warnings make it clear that the tide and the rocks are significant hazards.
One of the few reasons to attempt the route through the cave is to reach Selworthy Sand, which is otherwise only accessible by boat. Selworthy Sand only appears at low tide and is the least accessible beach on our coastline.
The video is shown below, with a diagram here of the location.
