Thinking Allowed

Monday 11th March

The next meeting of Thinking Allowed will be on Monday 11th March in the Villagers’ Stores, 7-8pm with drinks available from 6.30pm. The question we shall be exploring is, ‘If its citizens feel powerless, is a democracy really the best form of government?’ This issue arose from our last meeting and is particularly relevant today. Some notes and a reminder will be posted later this week. As usual, all will be welcome .

Also agreed at our last meeting is that the Thinking Allowed gatherings should be making a donation for the use of the Villagers’ Stores. When Sarah and Mark arrived, they generously said that they were not seeking any payment for use of the premises, especially as we were using the bar. They have not sought to change that arrangement but Thinking Allowed-ers are clear that with increased costs of heating and lighting, we would like to make a donation and suggest that each person donates £1 per session or a one-off payment of £5 for the year. We will, of course, continue to use the bar.
