Monday 13th January
The next Thinking Allowed will be next Monday (13th January) at 7pm in the Villagers’ Stores. The bar will be open from 6.30pm. In the past, the meeting around Christmas has been slightly different from our other meetings. Following this tradition we will be having a conversation about living on Exmoor: ‘What does Exmoor mean to us?’
Everybody will view Exmoor differently – some villagers have lived here all their life, some for many years and others of us are relative new-comers. Some, for example, farmers, depend upon Exmoor for their living, others have retired here. How does our reason for living on Exmoor affect the way we view it? It will be good to hear from all – though there will be no pressure on those who do not wish to speak. This topic has been discussed in different groups, but this will be its first airing at Thinking Allowed. There will be no notes on this occasion. Poetry will figure as well as a warm welcome to all.
