Tuesday 25th February at 7.30pm
A talk by Judith Nesbitt, via Zoom –
William Robinson and The Wild Garden
Each February, the Gardening Club meeting is held via Zoom so that we can choose speakers from further afield than usual. This year, Judith Nesbitt will be giving a lecture on William Robinson, the Irish-born gardener and writer whose 1870 book, The Wild Garden, sparked a new ethos which continues to influence garden design today. He championed an authentically naturalistic approach to gardening, using resilient plants within a dynamic design framework, as is evidenced by his beautiful garden at Gravetye Manor in Sussex. Judith is publishing a book on Robinson this year so she is well versed in her subject and this promises to be an inspiring lecture.
Gardening Club members will automatically receive the Zoom link before the talk, but we have decided to open this Zoom lecture to the village at large, so if you are not a member of the Gardening Club and you would like to tune in and watch the talk on the 25th, please email me at marion@garden84.net and I will email the Zoom link to you a day or so before the talk goes ahead. All you then have to do is click on the link at the appointed time and join the meeting. I would ask that you keep the Zoom link private, as we are not opening the talk to the general public.
