Ornithological Rarity

You may be interested to hear that we have a nesting pair of mistle thrush which are feeding on the village playing field. They are much scarcer than the song thrush, and quite a lot bigger than the song thrush, which is blackbird-sized. The mistle thrush is grey brown in colour with a speckled chest, and it’s easily spotted as it stands tall and upright. They are spending a lot of time searching out worms just in front of the pavilion.
