National Grid Road Closures
You may have seen temporary signs around the village which state that the road will be closed from 5th June until 1st August. This is because National Grid are undertaking a programme of replacing decaying poles throughout the village. I have been informed that they will avoid closing multiple roads, which would cause chaos. Instead, individual roads will be closed while work takes place on them, and National Grid have told me that they will update me regularly so that I can email villagers about which road (or sections of road) will be closed, when and for how long. Each day’s closure will last from 8am to 4pm.
Some inconvenience is inevitable while this work is carried out, but at least if we are aware of diversion routes we can plan our journeys beforehand.
Openreach Road Closure
In addition, Ranscombe Road will be closed on the 28th May, 9.30am – 3.30pm, to allow Openreach to work on tree cutting and pole replacement.
