Thinking Allowed

‘What makes a hero and why do we need them?’ is the topic of our next Thinking Allowed, which will be on Monday 8th September. The question of heroes arose at our last meeting when we were exploring whose or what image we would put on the back of our banknotes. Who are today’s heroes? Many of these questions have been considered in a very good series of programmes on heroes, compiled by Rory Stewart, on BBC Radio 4 (now on BBC Sounds).

Background notes will be posted later in the week. We meet at 7pm in the Villagers’ Stores. The bar will be open from 6.30pm. As well as friendly company, there will be stimulating conversation and poetry. All will be welcome.
