The final amount raised by the Scarecrow Festival was £551. Many thanks to all for participating in and/or donating to our fun event. I hope you’ve seen our coverage in this week’s Free Press. Well done everyone.
I received the following message from the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance:
Dear Ruth and all at Wootton Courtenay Village Hall,
On behalf of Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, I would like to thank you for your generous and kind donation of £551.00 raised at your Scarecrow Festival, which must have been good fun.
Every year, our crew respond to thousands of life‑threatening emergencies across Dorset and Somerset, delivering specialist critical care when every second counts. Whether at a roadside, in a home, at work or in a remote location, we bring the hospital to the patient, delivering advanced life-saving treatment.
Your generosity makes this possible. Each mission costs around £3,500 and with demand rising to around eight emergencies a day, your support helps us operate 19 hours a day by helicopter and car. As a charity receiving no direct government funding, every mission is only possible thanks to the kindness of our local communities.
Thanks to people like you, we’re also working towards adding a second helicopter to our fleet. A second helicopter will strengthen our operational availability and enable us to fly hundreds of additional life-saving hours every year. You can follow our progress on our social media channels or by signing up to our e-newsletter at www.dsairambulance.org.uk.
Your donation today helps ensure our crew can continue bringing urgent medical care to those who need it most. Every donation makes a difference. Every mission depends on you.
On behalf of our crew, our patients and every family who benefits from our service, thank you once again for your incredible support. Your generosity is life-saving.
