Stuart Lowen Farm Shop New Management

It’s Alex Broomsgrove here. I have some news!

Some of you may already know that Stuart Lowen’s Farm Shop on Hawksworth Road in Minehead has changed hands. The ownership has not left the village, as I have taken on the farm shop! Despite the change of ownership, the heart of the shop will stay the same: quality, local produce and a place people know and trust.

My plan is to build on what is already there. The shop will continue to offer quality meat, fresh fruit and vegetables, local produce, refillable products and everyday essentials for customers.

Exmoor truly feels like home, and keeping an independent butcher and farm shop going is very important to me. I have grown my own fruit and veg in addition to rearing animals since moving to Wootton Courtenay. My passion has truly developed for quality produce, especially understanding how food is grown, reared, baked or crafted. My background in healthcare has shaped how I think about food. I believe that what we eat and where it comes from can impact how we live and feel. That means valuing quality ingredients, healthy choices and providing food that people can trust.

Supporting local producers will remain a central part of the shop’s future. From farmers and growers to bakers, makers and suppliers, I want to keep championing the people behind the food on the shelves and on the butcher’s counter.

This is a new chapter for Stuart Lowen Farm Shop, built on the foundations of good food, local people and a shop that continues to serve its community and surrounding areas.

Both Stuart and Nicky have been very supportive. I would also like to thank everyone who has spoken to me and wished me well on the success of the shop. It is going to take a bit of time for me to get settled in, but I am enjoying every minute. I feel very fortunate to be able to do something I feel so passionate about, linked with the area that I love.

In the meantime, I would love to hear what you would like to see in the shop. Please email me at exmoorfarmshop@gmail.com

Alternatively, if you see me around the village or in the shop, it would be lovely to chat about what suggestions you have.
