Thinking Allowed

Monday 13th July

‘Beautiful Old Age,’ the title of a poem by DH Lawrence, is the topic for our next Thinking Allowed on Monday 13th July. For those of us fortunate enough to reach it, this will be a lively topic. Who defines when we are old? Some people of advanced age appear young whereas some younger people appear old before their time. Is old age blighted by declining health? There is almost an inevitability about ill-health when we are older – how do we view and handle that? We have more time to do the things we have always wanted to do – but is this always the case? These are the kind of questions that may arise. Come and join us for what will be, I am sure, a lively evening.

Background notes will be posted later next week. We meet at 7pm in the Villagers’ Stores. The bar will be open from 6.30pm. If you haven’t been to Thinking Allowed before, you are assured of a warm welcome.
